Briefly Describe Your Chapter's Philanthropy Event: To better the community that we live in, we strive to help out as many local organizations as possible. Each year we volunteer our time to help Free scale Marathon for the Live Strong Foundation, Relay for Life for Cancer Research, Neighborhood Longhorn, and Adopt a Street. We also host an annual Powder Puff Football Tournament for the sororities. All the proceeds from this tournament go to St. Jude?s Hospital.
Briefly Describe Your Fraternity: Beta Theta Pi was nationally founded on August 8, 1839 at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Today, Beta has some 125 chapters and colonies in Canada and the United States. Betas are steadfastly dedicated to unsullied friendship, unfaltering fidelity, and cultivation of the intellect. The Texas Beta Omicron Chapter of Beta Theta Pi has been on campus since 1886, only three years younger than the University itself. We are one of the oldest continuous fraternities on campus enjoying 120 straight years of recognition from the University of Texas.
